century château. Guided tours of the château are available
year round by reservation where the guide invites visiting children
to dress in period clothes and take part in various activities of days
gone by.

Poitiers Town
of a hundred belltowers, Poitiers' rich diversity of monuments and historical
heritage will captivate you. The recently restored Notre-Dame-la-Grande
Church is a jewel of Romanesque art. You can also take time to linger

Montmorillon
Set in the heart

Chauvigny
The five castles
of the medieval town: a unique site in Europe. The Chateau d'Harcours,
the Chateau des Evêques, the Donjon de Gouzon houses the industrial
archaeology display, the Tour de Flin and the Chateau de Mauléon.
The annual summer festival is held in July and August each year with
musical concerts, dance and various performances. The 11th century church
at Chauvigny, Abbaye de Saint-Savin, is a UNESCO World Heritage site
where you will find murals which will fill you with wonder.

Norée
Caves - Biard
The
Norée Caves are the only natural caves in La Vienne. Spectacular
lighting created by local artists illuminates the caves. Strange stalagmites
which look like a "chabichou" - the local goat's cheese! The
'Macaroni Hall' will enchant young and old alike. There is an exhibition
explaining the history of the caves from the middle of the Jurassic
period to their discovery, and an history of the bats who live in these
caves. Open beginning April - end October.
